Lyrics
voice unheard
oh a hummingbird
and the flowers still
on their own
grass is green and skies are clear and
the view is seen and light is near and
a hummingbird the hills are verdant and known
wish i could but say i cant and
i knock on wood the wine decanter
is growing dusty left unused by us
all i ever do
is recall time and time and
again the gall to say its fine and
the actions done and nothing left unsaid
streaks of white
dont put up a fight
and the flowers still
seem to bloom
on the news youll see it soon
some unheard of thing
and i know it on my fingers
countdown now until im on my own
gone away and led astray and
the numbers say what we dont ask for
and find the way i get a say
or dont
voice unheard
oh a hummingbird
near the flowers still
on my own
Artist's Statement:
Did you know hummingbirds can flap their wings up to 200 times a second? Did you know there are around 12,000 different species of grass? Did you know the typical cloud can exceed 1 million pounds? How I wish and wish things could last much longer. What little time we have, and what broad time we waste. I saw it on the news, once.
To those who listen closely, you will note the similarity to someone else. I hope thats alright.
